ABOUT

Three decades of building software for capital markets — and now, helping others do the same.

Mirko Marcadella
Founder, MM Fintech GmbH

I've spent my career at the intersection of technology and financial markets. Since graduating in Computer Science, I've been drawn to entrepreneurial challenges — building products, teams, and companies that solve hard problems for demanding clients.

In 1994, I joined IT SOFTWARE, where I first discovered the world of technology applied to financial markets, with a particular focus on electronic trading. Over the years that followed, I helped shape a business that became a reference name in the space across Europe and Asia.

In 2012, together with my co-founders at IT SOFTWARE, I co-founded The Technancial Company — a RegTech firm focused on real-time risk management and trade surveillance. Despite being a start-up in a market where most buyers default to large, established vendors, we earned the trust of most global Tier 1 banks within a few years, and grew to become a global leader in our field. At the end of 2019, we sold both IT SOFTWARE and The Technancial Company to LIST S.p.A.

In January 2021, I joined LIST's management team as Chief Product & Marketing Officer, leading product strategy across trading, risk, and regulatory solutions. Following ION's acquisition of LIST, I joined ION's Product Management team, where I continue to shape products for capital markets.

I founded MM Fintech alongside this work to do what I enjoy most: helping others solve hard problems at the crossroads of finance and technology. The firm operates as a boutique advisory — intentionally small, intentionally hands-on — taking on a limited number of engagements at a time.

RECOGNITION

Recognition

Products under my responsibility at The Technancial Company, LIST, and ION have received multiple industry awards across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC — in categories spanning real-time risk management, trade surveillance, and trading technology.

I regularly speak at industry conferences and panels on topics including risk management, market structure, regulatory technology, and the evolution of trading infrastructure.

WHAT I BRING

What I bring to an engagement

Operator experience, not theory.

Every piece of advice I offer is grounded in having done the work — building products, running P&Ls, hiring teams, negotiating deals, and steering companies through acquisitions.

Deep domain knowledge.

Thirty years in electronic trading, real-time risk, and regulatory technology means I can go straight to the technical substance of a problem rather than working up to it.

A global network.

Long-standing relationships across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC — with vendors, exchanges, banks, brokers, and the investors who back them.

Candor.

Boutique advisory works best when the advisor tells clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. I try to bring that.

BEYOND MM FINTECH

When I'm not working, I'm usually on a golf course somewhere. I live in Switzerland and work with clients globally.
